Guided Exploration Hike
of GTM Research Reserve
Take a walk through the Guana Peninsula and discover the layers of history and natural beauty that make this stretch of coast so special. The monthly guided hike explores more than 5,000 years of human history alongside the peninsula’s diverse ecosystems, from Indigenous use of estuarine resources to European plantation life and today’s conservation efforts. Wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes; reservations are required and space is limited.

September Plein Air Paint Out
Watch St. Augustine’s historic scenery come to life during this two-day plein air painting event. Hosted by the St. Augustine Art Association and St. Johns Cultural Council, the free Paint Out brings artists outdoors to capture the city’s architecture, streetscapes and coastal character in real time. Artists must sign up in advance, and completed works may be selected for an October exhibit at the County Administrative Building Rotunda.

Sunrise Paddle At
Anastasia State Park
There’s something special about seeing the coast wake up from the water. Set out on Salt Run for a guided sunrise paddle and watch the morning light spread across the dunes and salt marshes. Keep an eye out for dolphins, seabirds and other coastal wildlife along the way. The fast-paced story behind the hit film takes the stage at Limelight Theatre.
