Through Closet Factory Cares, a national non-profit, Jill, Sierra & their team are doing great things right here in Northeast Florida!

The Flores family’s commitment extends beyond beautiful storage spaces. Through their nonprofit initiative, Closet Factory Cares, they are making a tangible difference in the lives of local foster children.

Foster children need to move outside the home, and with foster homes in short supply, children are often shuffled between places to live. Moves happen often and many times, with little warning.

“Often, when a child enters foster care, they only have a trash bag with their belongings,” Jill shares, her voice softening. “Our goal is to give them something of their own, something that provides comfort and dignity.”

Closet Factory partners with organizations in Northeast Florida, like The Foster Closet and Isaiah 117 House, donating backpacks filled with essential items twice a year. The entire team participates in donation drives, finding immense purpose in giving back. “Seeing the impact of these backpacks reminds us why we do what we do. It’s our duty to give back to the community,” says Jill, who recently joined the national Closet Factory Cares board.

Among those children Closet Factory Cares will serve are those in the foster care system. More than 376,000 children in the U.S. were in the foster care system, according to the most recent numbers available from KIDS COUNT Data Center, an initiative of the Annie E. Casey Foundation.
